Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

All are welcome!

This week at Sangha tonight we continue on in our series on ethics. Last week we looked at what it means to recognize when we don’t live up to our highest ideals. This week we will explore what it’s like to reconnect to our highest ideals and go beyond what may seem like failures. For a Buddhist connecting with our highest ideals, our inspiration, is recognizing that enlightenment is possible.

What the Buddha overcame we too can overcome. What the Buddha attained we too can attain.

When we look at the positive precepts, and begin to find ways to live these out in our lives and in our day-to-day activities, we can begin to have a glimpse of what it’s like to be a Buddha. The positive precepts encourage us to stretch and grow into our potential. We could even see these positive precepts as a way to live a beautiful life that is creative and responsive. This week we will explore together how we can step outside our comfort zone, go beyond the known and the familiar, open to transformation, and be reborn.
