6:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

All are welcome!

Ritual and Devotion – Sevenfold Puja

Last Wednesday we explored the 7 Fold Puja and discussed the purpose and ‘moods’ of this devotional ceremony .

This Wednesday we enter into the 7 Fold Puja ceremony, that when practiced with an open, curious mind, can evoke appreciation, wonder, a sense of beauty and a connection with all life both near and far.

The 7 Fold Puja is practiced at Triratna centers around the world and so provides contact and continuity with many others on the planet Earth. When we approach a ceremony with an open curious mind, make offerings and give salutations to our highest ideals, committing to an ethical practice that begins with non harm, we can also experience any resistance that may arise with unfamiliar words and phrases.

Listening is part of the participation, and allowing the words to enter beyond our reactive immediate blockages can begin to crack open old, useless personal programing that has held us back from transcending old habits and attitudes that we may carry.

For both the community and the individual, paying homage and respect to something greater than ourselves and our own concerns, can be transformative and begin to bring a happiness and contentment not found in the lonely pursuit of the material world
