We decided to continue not having in person meditation and study group sessions on Wednesday evening.

Instead we will be meeting online. Join us by clicking on this Zoom link on Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm . We value Sangha (spiritual community) and feel it is important for us to have the opportunity to be together. We will use this time to meditation along with a short check in to see how we can best support one another. Plus the facilitator will continue on our Dharma theme offering everyone a focus for our practice. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Join us to explore….this Wednesday…!

All are welcome!

Life With Full Attention
Week 4
Citta/Mind

Over the last few weeks, we have spent time cultivating awareness of our body and its movements, and vedana, the feeling tone of experience. Learning to bring our attention to these two spheres of awareness has helped us connect with our direct experience in the here and now. These practices and learning to ground ourselves in the present moment help us gain perspective on what is happening in our mind, citta.

This week we will move into week 4 of our series and focus on mind, citta. This will include our heart as well as our head, as citta includes our thinking, our emotions, and our intuition. The Dhammapada tells us “Experiences are preceded by mind, led by mind and produced by mind”. It is our state of mind that creates our world into something interesting, something boring, enjoyable, meaningful or futile.

When we cultivate awareness of what is happening in our mind, we will begin to hear the stories, self-narratives, and habitual ways of thinking that have become so familiar that we mistake them for facts of experience rather than an interpretation of experience.

Please join us this week to learn more about mind/citta, to meditate and engage in discussion as we grow together into a Life with Full Attention.
