Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Wednesday Sangha Night On Zoom
6:45pm – 8:30pm

The Journey and the Guide
A practical course in enlightenment

This week we enter into the realm of Spiritual Death; a dying of our old self limiting views and habits that keep us from moving towards a clearer understanding of our own true nature and thus that of the Universe and everything in it.

In his book The Journey and the Guide, Maitreyabandhu lists the five stages of the spiritual life. Integration, positive emotion, spiritual death, spiritual rebirth and spontaneous compassionate activity.

With an understanding of integration, a continuous practice to be as aware and mindful as we can, and practicing and cultivating positive emotions, we see that these two can provide a foundation and the needed conditions for spiritual death to arise.

“ With spiritual death, we are letting go of a limited (and limiting) view of ourselves so that we can experience the unlimited.” Pg.160

None of this work is easy! Yet nothing compares to a sense of personal freedom and a liberated generous spirit.

“The person that bests a thousand men a thousand times is not as great as they that bests themselves.”

Join us this week for meditation, discussion and community!

All are welcome!
