Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

The Journey and the Guide
A practical course in enlightenment

The Mandala of Spiritual Rebirth

This week we will continue refining our understanding of Spiritual Rebirth by exploring our imaginal faculty that holds the qualities of reason, emotion and the senses.

“We need to recognize and train our imagination. If we do not identify our imagination, we will not be able to use it, thereby being stuck in a very shallow world of ‘being Me’.”

With our imagination, and a sense of faith in the process and communication with trusted friends, we can begin to see that something far greater than our everyday experience is available to us through our imagination and faith in the process of discovery.

The less burdened we become with a fixed sense of self, the greater the heights and depths of our practice can take us beyond ourselves.
Varieties of Spiritual experience can be a of a” heightened significance, a deeper sense of beauty, and meaning and unselfish love.”

“Spiritual rebirth is indefinable and a mystery. We need to be careful not to try and pin it down because with spiritual rebirth we don’t know what we are talking about.”

Questions for reflection:

1. Do you have a supportive lifestyle? How could you make it more supportive for dharma practice?

2. Do you agree or disagree that in order to make progress we have to serve something bigger than ourselves?

All are welcome!
