Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Perfect Action/Right Action

This week we continue our journey on the Noble Eight Fold Path by looking at Perfect or right action.

“And what is right action? Abstaining from taking life, abstaining from stealing, abstaining from unchastity. This is called right action.” — SN 45.8

On the mundane level, Right action is a matter of conscious discipline. On the level of the Awakened mind, a Buddha would, with spontaneity, be Perfect action, based in love, generosity and contentment.

As we explore the mind through wise discernment, sorting through negative unskillful thoughts and cultivating positive skillful thoughts, we begin to see that our reactions to the external world and what we feed our inner world, to a great extent, creates our future.

With the practice of meditation, a strong ethical framework, and open honest communications with friends, we begin to see that we are the agents of our internal worlds, and with effort, we will continue to grow and expand our mindfulness, a deepening compassion and awareness of others and a growing happiness, despite living in a stressful world.

Please join us as we continue on our journey of the Noble Eightfold Path.

All are welcome!
