6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Perfect Awareness

This week we continue on in our series on the Noble Eightfold Path. We have come to the 7th limb, Perfect Awareness or Right Mindfulness. We may hear a lot about mindfulness these days from work place trainings, to self help books, or talks on Youtube. But what is mindfulness really? What are we supposed to be mindful of, and what does it have to do with growing and developing on the Buddhist path?

We may have experience with unmindfulness which shows up as forgetfulness, distraction, poor concentration or drifting from one thing to another without much purpose. Mindfulness would be the opposite of these and be recognized as a state of recollection, un-distractedness, concentration, and continuity and steadfastness of purpose.

Together we will explore the four levels of awareness: awareness of things, awareness of ourselves (which would include our body, feelings and thoughts), awareness of other people, and awareness of Reality.

Please join us as we continue on our journey of the Noble Eightfold Path.

All are welcome!
