6:45 pm - 8:00 pm
Due to the COVID-19 Nagaloka is closed to the public. We decided best not to have any in person meditation or study group sessions on Wednesday evening or Sunday AM.
Instead we will be meeting online. Join us by clicking on this Zoom link on Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm . We value Sangha (spiritual community) and feel it is important for us to have the opportunity to be together. We will use this time to meditation along with a short check in to see how we can best support one another. Plus the facilitator will continue on our Dharma theme offering everyone a focus for our practice. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.
Join us to explore….this Wednesday…!
Approaching the Mandala of the Five Buddhas
The mighty Conquerors who overcome suffering everywhere.
Please join us on a journey to the realms of the Imagination, using poetry, symbol, myth, and our free travel kit of color, visualization practices and archetypal images, as we explore the realm of the Five Buddhas. These five figures represent different aspects of the enlightened experience. Over time, through deep practice these five aspects of the enlightened mind as represented by these archetypal figures have emerged. The qualities of Wisdom, Compassion, Generosity, Illumination and Fearlessness are represented in the mandala of the Five Buddhas. This realm of the imaginal faculty, that resides between our everyday consciousness and full awakening is called the Sambhogakaya.
After visiting Ratnasambhava in the golden high noon South, we now move around the mandala towards the West where a glowing red light encompasses all.
This red light emanates from Amitabha the Buddha of love and Compassion. Completely approachable, open, head of the Lotus family, he sits with his hands in the meditation mudra.
Amitabha, sitting as the meditation Buddha, is the most well known and widely worshiped of all archetypal Buddhas. As the red Buddha he represents compassion and love. He abides in Sukhavati the Happy Land where all your needs are met just by thinking about them. Please join us as we explore the qualities of love and compassion as exemplified by the warm red celestial Buddha of the West, the always approachable Amitabha.
“A mandala is a harmonious arrangement around a central point.”
Poetry, symbol, myth, and ritual carry us, as Shelly suggests in his Defense of Poetry, ‘To regions of light and fire where the winged faculty of calculation dare not ever soar.’
“We can not live in the realm of rational thought alone. To feel fully and vibrantly alive we must be in touch with all the different aspects and levels of our beings.”
All are welcome at Nagaloka to join us on this dive into the realm of Beauty, the power of Myth, poetry and perhaps a deeper connection with ourselves and other beings.
