Due to the COVID-19 Nagaloka is closed to the public. We decided best not to have any in person meditation or study group sessions on Wednesday evening or Sunday AM.

Instead we will be meeting online. Join us by clicking on this Zoom link on Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm . We value Sangha (spiritual community) and feel it is important for us to have the opportunity to be together. We will use this time to meditation along with a short check in to see how we can best support one another. Plus the facilitator will continue on our Dharma theme offering everyone a focus for our practice. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Join us to explore….this Wednesday…!

Approaching the Mandala of the Five Buddhas

The mighty Conquerors who overcome suffering everywhere.

Please join us on a journey to the realms of the Imagination, using poetry, symbol, myth, and our free travel kit of color, visualization practices and archetypal images, as we explore the realm of the Five Buddhas. These five figures represent different aspects of the enlightened experience. Over time, through deep practice these five aspects of the enlightened mind as represented by these archetypal figures have emerged. The qualities of Wisdom, Compassion, Generosity, Illumination and Fearlessness are represented in the mandala of the Five Buddhas. This realm of the imaginal faculty, that resides between our everyday consciousness and full awakening is called the Sambhogakaya.

After traveling around the mandala of the five Buddhas, receiving the gifts that each Buddha offers, we meet Vairochana the Illuminator, holding the Golden Wheel of the Dharma. Pure white radiance, the embodiment of absolute Reality his throne supported by four lions symbolizes Enlightenment, the center of the mandala. The turning of the Golden Wheel of the Dharma as symbolized by Vairochana’s mudra, expresses the gift of the Dharma radiating out to the Universe beginning with the Buddha’s decision to teach.

Deep blue Akshobya of the dawn, held up a crystal mirror of Wisdom and touching the Earth showed us the truth of things through direct experience. Golden Ratnasambhava of noon, gave us the jewel of Beauty and Generosity, and ruby red Amitabha of the setting sun offered the gifts of Love and Compassion. The deep green Amoghasiddhi of midnight gives us Fearlessness and unobstructed success with integration of energy to help others. These gifts are essential to develop within us so we can prepare to see the brilliant, illuminating ‘Clear light of the Void.

Please join us this Wednesday eve as we ascend to the center of the mandala of the Five Buddhas.

“A mandala is a harmonious arrangement around a central point.”

Poetry, symbol, myth, and ritual carry us, as Shelly suggests in his Defense of Poetry, ‘To regions of light and fire where the winged faculty of calculation dare not ever soar.’

“We can not live in the realm of rational thought alone. To feel fully and vibrantly alive we must be in touch with all the different aspects and levels of our beings.”
