Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

All are welcome!

Laksanas and Vimokshas

In the past six weeks we have learned about and discussed the 3 laksanas: impermanence, suffering and no self. We also explored how each laksana, when seen into deeply with wisdom, can lead us to a corresponding gateway to liberation, the signless, the aimless or unbiased, and Sunyatta or emptiness.

This week we will have the opportunity to bring questions or ah-ha moments to our discussion as we summarize and see how we are working now, or may be able to work more deeply, with these teachings in our daily lives. Are we becoming more aware of the characteristics of conditioned existence in our day to day? Can we feel ourselves turning away from the conditioned and toward the unconditioned?

“It is not enough to understand the Buddha’s teaching intellectually. Anybody who has the ability to read – and a moderate intelligence – can do that. We have to ask ourselves again and again, not just “Do I know? Do I understand?” But “Do I feel? Do I vibrate with this?”

~Sangharakshita

Please join us this week as we wrap up our series on the Laksanas and the Vimokshas.
