6:45 pm - 8:00 pm
We decided to continue not having in person meditation and study group sessions on Wednesday evening.
Instead we will be meeting online. Join us by clicking on this Zoom link on Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm . We value Sangha (spiritual community) and feel it is important for us to have the opportunity to be together. We will use this time to meditation along with a short check in to see how we can best support one another. Plus the facilitator will continue on our Dharma theme offering everyone a focus for our practice. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.
Eight Verses For Training the Mind
In our current series we will delve into an ancient tradition of practice attributed to Langrithankpa a disciple of the 11th century Indian teacher Atisha.
This week we will spend time with the 2nd of the Mind Training Verses. Here we are asked to take a good look at pride, conceit and humility. Can we loosen just a bit around self-clinging that can lead to feeling easily threatened and defensiveness. Can we let envy, competition and condescension go and approach relationships and situations with a sense of healthy humility? As we expand our cherishing beyond just ourselves to all beings, can we practice with an ethical approach that allows us to not just pursue happiness for ourselves, but as a bodhisattva would, for the sake of all beings.
2. “Whenever I am in the company of others,
May I regard myself as inferior to all
And from the depths of my heart
Cherish others as supreme.
