We decided to continue not having in person meditation and study group sessions on Wednesday evening.

Instead we will be meeting online. Join us by clicking on this Zoom link on Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:00pm . We value Sangha (spiritual community) and feel it is important for us to have the opportunity to be together. We will use this time to meditation along with a short check in to see how we can best support one another. Plus the facilitator will continue on our Dharma theme offering everyone a focus for our practice. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.

Join us to explore….this Wednesday…!

All are welcome!

The Wheel of Life
The Hell Realm

This week we continue looking at the Wheel of Life with a visit to the Hell Realm, where we see beings in a state of constant suffering and the relentless pain of intense negative mental states and strong negative emotions.

Using the Wheel of Life as a mirror, we might be able to remember a time when we inhabited at least the ‘suburbs’ of the Hell realm.

Everywhere we look, other people, places and things are out to ‘get us’. We might suffer from intense insecurities coupled with a sense of constant threat from outside forces.

Time in the Hell Realm is characterized by the root mental state of hatred, seeing the entire world through this fog of ill will.

This attitude can be seen clearly today as different groups attempt to subvert, undermine and destroy the perceived threats to their sense of personal security.

We might find ourselves in a Hell realm controlled by fear and anger, yet there is a way out. A Buddha arrives in this place of suffering with a balm to ease the pain and mental strains that we create, showing us that there is a way out of this realm of woe. By taking a break from this intense negative way of being, we can open and broaden our perspectives of life, and begin to hear a more skillful and pleasing way to live.

Please join us this Wednesday as we continue our exploration of this ancient symbol that still glows like a beacon of light in a sometimes dark world.
