Please join us online by Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:30pm. We value Sangha (spiritual community) and the opportunity to be together. We will use this time for lightly guided meditation, a short check in to see how we can support one another, and exploration of a Buddhist topic. The facilitator will offer brief remarks and guide discussion as a way to focus our practice on that week’s theme. Themes may run several weeks, but each week can serve as a stand-alone session. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love and kindness for the wellness of all beings.
This Wednesday we will continue on in our series on the Six Paramitas. We find ourselves now at the third perfection of Ksanti, meaning forbearance, tolerance or acceptance. Ksanti carries along with it, overtones of love and compassion, in a sense, it can be an antidote to anger.
We will start with Ksanti as forbearance with an exploration of what sort of situations we can practice forbearance towards. Ever get frustrated with the weather? How about towards your own body when sick or injured and the recovery is not going how you wished? Or perhaps other people in your life not acting or speaking in the ways that you would like.
Ksanti can be practiced as tolerance. With so many opinions, on so many subjects, on so many social media and news platforms, we may find ourselves surrounded by differing views on religion, on politics, on what to eat and how to raise our families. What can we do in the midst of the maelstrom?
We will follow with Ksanti as spiritual receptivity. Can we remain open and ready to learn new things about ourselves and the world around us? Are we prepared to change in the light of new information and experience? Can we hold ourselves open to the higher spiritual influences that are streaming through the universe?
All are welcome!
