Wednesday Sangha Night On Zoom
6:45pm – 8:30pm
8/16 to 9/13

This Wednesday at our online Friends’ Night we move along in our series on the Brahma Viharas and come to the cultivation of compassion, Karuna Bhavana.

We hear this word, compassion, quite a bit in Buddhist practice, but what does it really mean? How is compassion different from metta, care and concern for others, or benevolence? Why is compassion so important in this practice? How can we practice compassion, really meeting the suffering of beings, without becoming pulled down into sadness and overwhelm?

This week we will practice the Karuna Bhavana together and explore our understanding of compassion. We will practice cultivating compassion formally on the cushion and then explore what compassion looks like off the cushion as we live our lives and interact with others.

Please join us for meditation, discussion and community.
All are welcome!
