EcoDharma event & launch of a local eco-sangha

Please join us to consider a Buddhist response to ecological crises. The event includes a talk, a guided eco-meditation, discussion, and exploration of how we might function as a local eco-sangha for study and action.

Eco crises can feel overwhelming; fortunately, Buddhist practices-and-wisdom can nourish those who hear the cries of the earth and future generations. It can move us beyond anger, grief, fear, or numbness so we can creatively respond to the reality of collective ecological neglect with actions such as individual behavior change &/or social activism.

Volunteer presenter: Nancy Artz, a retired professor training for ordination in the Triratna Buddhist Community. She draws on the work of Johanna Macy (Active Hope), Analayo (Mindfully Facing Climate Change), David Loy (Ecodharma), Shantigarbha (The Burning House), and the Triratna Earth Sangha.

Those interested may wish to join a group of us for Eco-sattva training with One Earth Sangha in January.

The event is free and open to the public (all donations support the non-profit Nagaloka Buddhist Center). A background in Buddhism and meditation is helpful, but not required.

RSVP at Walk-ins are welcome, but registering ensures notice of event cancellation.
