This 8-week course guides you through exercises to help you pay closer attention to your everyday life. Too often we can feel like we’re not living life fully or we’re lost in a cacophony of anxiety, distraction, and negative mental states. Mindfulness practices — such as meditation — help us cope with stress. Buddhist teachings go beyond secular mindfulness practices to help us achieve lasting contentment by radically transforming the mind to see deeply into the human experience and then using this insight to guide daily life. This course is a practical starting place (or refresher) for secular and Buddhist teachings on mindfulness.
You’ll learn — step-by-step — how to practice the Buddha’s four dimensions of mindfulness and apply them in daily life.
You’ll receive the book, Life with Full Attention. We’ll discuss your experience applying the material to your life. Lightly guided meditation will be part of each class.
Prior knowledge of Buddhism is not essential if you have some meditation experience. If needed, acquire experience at Nagaloka’s drop-in gatherings on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.

REGISTRATION & FEES: Course is offered on a sliding scale basis, with all funds supporting the non-profit Nagaloka Buddhist Center. Suggested donation for the 8-week course is $50-$120 ($20 minimum).
