Nagaloka Buddhist Center offers an opportunity for individuals to learn the ancient tradition of Buddhism, and to learn how to meditate. Nagaloka encourages seekers to come and visit our Center to find out first hand the practice of Buddhism.

There are various branches (schools) of Buddhism that have been around for over 2,500 years. Through the Buddha’s teachings (Dharma), individuals learn how to open their hearts and grow in self-awareness and compassion. The Dharma is based on generosity, compassion and awareness.

Nagaloka is affiliated with the Triratna Buddhist Community (FWBO). A Buddhist movement that has been around for over 35 years with Centers all around the world. The Triratna approach to the practice of Buddhism is appropriate for our Western culture, and draws on all schools: the Theravada, the Mahayana, and the Vajrayana.

We are located at 1 Forest Avenue, Portland, Maine on the Second Floor. We are not wheelchair accessible.
