Changes in our program for 2012

2011 has been a very successful year for Nagaloka in our new space at 54 York Street in Portland in both attendance and monetary support. The support and assistance of the council, fundraising kula, teaching kula, the bookstore helpers, and all the many other individuals have all contributed to this success! Thank you everyone for all your time, effort and positive energy that supports Nagaloka as we commit ourselves wholeheartedly to meditate and the Buddha’s teaching. The new-year 2012 brings with it an update in our program and a new mission statement.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Nagaloka is a Triratna Buddhist Community center. Our sangha seeks to
teach, explore and live the path towards Enlightenment. We supportively
encourage members to apply the Buddha’s teachings to daily life through
meditation, study, discussion and other activities.

We will discontinue Friday 6:30 PM meditation sessions.

The new meditation session:

Thursday ~ 5:30 PM led by John ~ Alternates between the “mindfulness of breathing” and the metta bhavana” (loving-kindness) meditation practices.

New meditation/discussion session:
